Salt Shaker and Quarter

Effect:

Magician states that he will push a coin through a solid table, by using a salt shaker. However, the salt shaker may break, so he wraps it up in a napkin. He puts the shaker over the coin and slams down on to the shaker, with a flat palm. The coin is still there, but the salt shaker has gone right through the table!

Method:

Quite an easy one, but mis-direction is important. Put a coin quite near the edge of the table about a hands length away. Wrap up the salt shaker, and tap the coin with the shakers bottom to prove it is there. Now as you say "coin through the table" bring your hand slowly towards your self and drop the shaker into your lap. The napkin will retain the shape on the shaker if wrapped correctly. Correctly being not to tight as not to let the salt shaker slip out, and not to loose as to fall apart well the shaker is gone. Put the napkin on the coin and slam down on it with your palm. Then after showing the coin is still there produce the shaker from under the table! Great effect have some fun with it!
